Center Francisco Elson will be joining guard Brent Barry as he returns to the Sonics, in exchange for Kurt Thomas. In addition to shaving some money off of the payroll, the Spurs are giving up their first round pick in 2009. At first glance, many people would think the Spurs aren't answering the recent deals made by the Suns and Lakers. Truth be told, those trades were made to deal with San Antonio, the Spurs are merely increasing the depth of their front line with this deal.

Introducing Assetbar, a new, more social way, to check out your RSS feeds. Featuring the ability to 'win' by being the first to view any particular asset (post), rate the assets, leave feedback for your friends, even become an "influential sharer," Assetbar is taking the news we look at every day, and making it easy to share with our friends. I've only spent a little more than a day with it so far though, so I'm far from being an expert. Before you read any further on this, you need to remember that Assetbar is still in BETA. I would still love to hear your opinions, as many will be different than mine, but all of our opinions are likely to change as the developers continue to tweak and refine everything in their ongoing effort to improve it.

I can't do mainstream. I just can't. It drives me crazy, it begins to be ordinary; begins to seem, so, yesterday. The latest and greatest attracts me, cool new web browser using the same underpinnings as Firefox? Sign me up. Flock, you have changed my life. College geared social network, simpler than MySpace, more fun, I'm there. Facebook connected me. A computer that's easy to use, rarely crashes, and doesn't involve a $300 OS? Thank you Apple. On February 4th, 2005, I landed back in the states after my year in Iraq. I declined to come home for my two weeks leave, so they bumped me to the first group of guys coming back. It was nice, made it back just in time to watch the Superbowl. Even nicer, somebody did some sweet talking and got people to come and do some processing for us over the weekend, so were in Ft. Carson, Colorado a mere four days and made it back home to North Dakota February 8th. After being away from home for over a year, it was nice to not waste any time getting home, it was also nice to see dozens of cheese burgers from McDonalds waiting for all of us as we got off the plane in Colorado. McDonalds is a welcome sight after you've flown from the other side of the world. I'll try to tell you about some of my experience without saying anything I'm not supposed to say.

Well, the NBA news front certainly jumped up a notch the last 24 hours. Out of nowhere the Spurs snap out of a funk, Gasol winds up in LA, and endless discussion is had about the all star snubbing. And that is outside of the Celtics continuing to win without Garnett, and Orlando's Redick suddenly saying he wants a trade as well! Well, lets get on with it.
